The Sidebar Block content type is a block that appears on Section Front Pages and Pages Landing and Basic pages in either the right-hand or left-hand region of the page. These blocks are used to provide additional functionality that Related Resources and Contact Info do not offer.

You can use blocks to place content or functionality on different regions of a page (outside of the body). They are the number two feature you will use to build content on your site behind content types.

• Go to Content > Create Content Add content > Sidebar BlockGive the block a Title

• Assign the block to a Section

The Section is related to an already-established taxonomy term. Your block will only appear on pages associated with that taxonomy term.

• Click the desired Add Sidebar Block button, the available options are detailed blow

There are three types of Sidebar Blocks available to add: Button, Image and Text.

• Click Save

Button

• Enter the URL and the Link text for the button

• If the button needs to open in a new window, expand the Attributes accordion and select New window (_blank) in the Target drop down

• Select the Button Color

• Select and upload a photo to the Image field

• You must provide a Alternative text and title for your image

• If you would like the image to be clickable, add the URL to the Image URL field

• Enter any content you would like to appear in the block to the Body field

• Under Settings, select Display title if you would like the Title field to display above your block and Border if you would like the block to have a border

• In the Section pages dropdown, select which grouping of pages associated with the taxonomy term you would like the block to display

  • All pages: Every page with sidebar in the ‘section’

  • Section frontpage only: Only on the section frontpage page content type for that ‘section’

  • All pages but section frontpage: Every page in the ‘section’ except the frontpage page content type for that ‘section’

• Under Sidebar, if you would like the block to appear on the left-hand side of the page, select First Sidebar; if you would like it to appear on the right-hand side of the page, select Second Sidebar

• Select a weight if you would like to change the vertical order, if more that one Sidebar Block are used in same region. The lower the number, higher on the page it will appear.

• Click Saveshould act as a clickable link, enter a URLin the Link field

  • If the link needs to open in a new window, expand the Attributes accordion and select New window (_blank) in the Target drop down

• Enter any content you would like to appear in the block to the Body field

• If a border is desired, mark the Border checkbox
