You can use blocks to place content or functionality on different regions of a page (outside of the body). They are the number two feature you will use to build content on your site behind content types.

Instructions

  • Go to Content > Add content > Sidebar Block

  • Assign the block to a Section

First Sidebar appears on the left, Second Sidebar appears on the right.

  • Click Save

Add Sidebar Block - Button

  • Enter the URL and the Link text for the button

  • If the button needs to open in a new window, expand the Attributes accordion and select New window (_blank) in the Target drop down

  • Select the Button Color

Add Sidebar Block - Image

  • Select and upload a photo to the Image field

  • You must provide a Alternative text and title for your image

  • If the image should act as a clickable link, enter a URLin the Link field

    • If the link needs to open in a new window, expand the Attributes accordion and select New window (_blank) in the Target drop down

Add Sidebar Block - Text

  • Enter any content you would like to appear in the block to the Body field

  • If a border is desired, mark the Border checkbox

Managing existing Sidebar Blocks

Locate and Edit Sidebar Block for a section

  • Navigate to the content overview page by clicking on Content in the Admin Toolbar
    Alternatively, you can manually navigate here using the path /admin/conent

  • Select Sidebar Block in the Content type filter

  • Select the Section you a looking for

  • Click the Filter button

  • Click the Edit button in the Operations column

Rearrange the order of the Sidebar Block paragraphs

  • Click the Collapse all button

  • Click and drag the cross icons vertically to achieve your desired order

  • Click the Save button
