The Common Framework (CFW) is a set of functionalities and styling built using Drupal to allow the implementation of implement websites with shared elements across the Maricopa environments.  The most common usage is It's primarily used for the nine college websites and www.maricopa.edu.   This approach enables a central core team to support the framework for security, bug fixes, and feature enhancements. 

The CFW is a collection of features, functionalityfunctionalities, styling, and layouts that help build individual websites that adhere adhering to the Maricopa branding standards and provide standardization in layout standards. Standardizing website navigation, search, menus, programs, degrees, and certifications enhances the user experience and aids in familiarity with the sites. The CFW includes the Bootstrap Library and provides automatic responsiveness on different-sized devices, ADA Section 508 compliance, and a friendly user interface for viewers and editors alike.

Version 3 of our framework represents a significant upgrade. It transitions to the latest Drupal version (D10) and incorporates the newest Bootstrap Library (5.2). This release enhances CFW’s features and aids editors and marketers with provides help links and examples in the editing interface.

The Departmental Framework (DFW) is a an extension of the CFW, tailored for more specialized websites. All ‘student’ focused functionality is removed while some additionality is added. This includes It removes student-specific features while adding more advanced functionalities, including Azure authentication for all users for site like , enabling access to private content on intranets or marketing that allows all maricopa (of college specific users) can login to see ‘private’ content, Specialized search as google cannot be used on block content, custom configuration process, …sites for Maricopa (or college-specific) users, specialized search capabilities for private content not indexed by Google, custom content types for crime logs, use-it-or-lose-it reports, procurement contracts, blogs. The DFW allows for customized configuration while benefiting from feature updates developed for the CFW.
