Content Editor

Content Editor is the most basic role available in the Common Framework. Content editors can edit existing content.

Content Editor is the default role for people outside of Marketing and IT.

MarketeerMarketer

Marketeers Marketers can create and edit most content.

Marketeer Marketer is the default role for Marketing people.

Site Builder

Site Builders can change some structure such as blocks, context, and taxonomy. They can also create some advanced content such as webforms.

Site Builder is the default role for IT people. It can also be assigned to highly experienced Marketing people with training.

Developer

Developers can create advanced content that generally requires theme changes. They can also administer content and views.

Developer is generally restricted to IT people / people with the knowledge and experience to understand the potential impacts of administering advanced features in the Common Framework.

Webmaster

Webmaster is the most advanced role available in the Common Framework. Webmasters are the only ones who can manage the following:

  • Users, roles, permissions

  • Content types

  • All context and views

  • Site-wide configuration

  • Modules

Webmaster is generally restricted to the ITS Web Team.
