This article is about how to customize program pages on your college website. If you are unfamiliar with program pages, read Program Pages first to get an idea of what makes up these pages.

See an example program page (Login: Maricopa / Maricopa).

Instructions

Customizing an Existing Program Page

  • Go to Content > Programs

  • Search by title or filter by publication status to find the program you want to customize

  • Click Edit to the right of the program

  • Follow the instructions below to customize the left sidebar and college description as desired

If including contact, it is recommended to use distribution list emails and shared phone lines rather than individual contact info. It is a very poor student experience to contact an individual only to find they no longer work there or in that role. Even if you have a good process for updating contact information on your site, the old information may still come up in a Google search after you make the change to your site.

  • Click Save program

Adding Files to the Left Sidebar

  • Select Browse or Choose File and locate your file on your computer

Only files with the following extensions are allowed: pdf, doc, docs, xls, xlms.

  • Click Upload

Adding Buttons to the Left Sidebar

  • Under Blocks, enter a Title and Link for the button

If the link will take the user to another site, best practice is to check the box to Open URL in a New Window

  • Click Add another item to add another button or accordion

Adding Accordions to the Left Sidebar

  • Under Blocks, enter a Title and Body for the accordion

  • Set the On page load state to Closed or Open to indicate whether you want the accordion to be expanded or collapsed when the page is first opened

  • Click Add another item to add another button or accordion

Adding a College Description

  • Add a College description with marketing information about your program such as points of pride for your college

Creating a New Program Page

Your college may have a program that does not offer an award. In this case, you can create a new program that lives on your website only. Such programs will appear with an asterisk that indicates they do not offer an award, and they are designed for personal and professional enrichment. It is recommended that you create very few of these unofficial programs so that you do not take away from the formal programs offered by your college.

  • Go to Content > Programs > Add program

  • Enter the program Title. Ensure Maricopa Community Colleges does not already offer a program with the same name.

  • Follow the instructions above to customize the program page

  • No labels
