How to Add Personalization Tokens to a Template
Personalization tokens allow you to tailor email templates or snippets to each recipient by pulling in specific data, like contact details. Tokens auto-populate with the corresponding property value when the email is sent.
How to Add Personalization Tokens
To Access the Template or Snippet, go to Templates or Snippets in your HubSpot account.
Open an existing template/snippet or create a new one.
Click into the body text where you want to add the token.
Click the Personalize dropdown in the toolbar.
Select the property type (Contact).
Use the search bar to choose a specific property (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Program of Interest).
Note:
Multiple Records: Data may not populate from the intended record when using a token in a snippet linked to multiple records.
Updating Blank Properties: If a token property is blank in HubSpot, your input will update the property in the record. Use placeholders to avoid permanent updates.
