Version 2.3 - New "Look and Feel" (Released October 25, 2019)

All

A new look and feel is now available on the Common Framework! Inspired by the Phoenix College website redesign in Summer 2018, the new look and feel is more modern and easier to use. It also gives college websites a more consistent look and feel, strengthening MCCCD’s brand. 

This release is a theme update to align the Common Framework with the marketing style guide for header/footer/body/menus/blocks.   Most content types have also been themed to reflect the style guide.

The major components of the new look and feel are:

  • A new out-of-the-box homepage design with many options to customize (see Version 2.2 for more details)

  • A new content type (landing page) with many options to customize (see Version 2.2 for more details)

  • A new header and footer that are full-width across the page

  • A mega menu for improved site navigation

  • More spacing between elements throughout the site 

  • Page elements are a percentage of the screen, creating a “fluid” experience when a user adjusts their browser window size

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is key to driving traffic to your site. You can now use the tool Yoast to improve SEO for your site.

Version 2.1 - FOI Tabs, News and Events Pages (Released August 27, 2019)

See New Fields of Interest Tabs

It is now easier for students to find the field of interest that is right for them. They can search and filter the Degrees and Certificates A-Z list. They can also Get Started with their admissions application or browse career options. Colleges on the Common Framework 2.x will automatically see the new tabs on their websites.

Create a News Story and View All News

Colleges can now add news stories to their sites. Create a page for each individual news story, and view all recent news stories - all with a more modern “look and feel.”

Post an Event and View All Events

Colleges can now post events to their sites. Create a page for each individual event, and view upcoming events - all with a more modern “look and feel.”


Version 2.0 - FOI Data Feed, New Content Types (Released March 8, 2019)

Fields of Interest Data Feed

In support of the launch of Guided Pathways, a District data feed was developed to automatically push Fields of Interest and degrees and certificates information to the websites of Colleges on the Common Framework.

New Content Types 

New content types were developed at the request of colleges currently on the Common Framework. New content types include landing pages, athletics, and events.
