Web Accessibility Compliance

Maricopa Community Colleges are committed to ensuring accessibility standards in our Drupal websites. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 from the U.S.’s Health and Human Services (HHS) department, our sites must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards, though we strive for AAA wherever possible.

• The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) develops web accessibility standards, including:

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Overview addresses web content, and is used by developers, authoring tools, and accessibility evaluation tools

  • User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG) addresses web browsers and media players, including some aspects of assistive technologies
