Subdomains and Domains

Requesting New Subdomains on Maricopa.edu

Setting up a new subdomain should be rarely done. It requires changes to DNS entries, firewalls, Incapsula, the redirect server, etc. However, there are some scenarios where a new subdomain may be acceptable:

• The subdomain is for a specific functional need, e.g. accounts.maricopa.edu

• The subdomain is for a marketing purposes, driven by Marketing or Student Affairs, e.g. success.maricopa.edu

Any other requests for a new subdomain should be sent to web@domail.maricopa.edu for review.

• Other groups requesting a vanity redirect should be reviewed by DSSC Marketing

• College requests needs to come through their respective CIOs or through DSSC Marketing

Purchasing New Domains

Before a new domain can be purchased, it must be reviewed by District Information Security. Anytime they buy a GoDaddy domain, has to go through InfoSec - .Com URL only
