Top Announcement blocks are placed using section taxonomy. You can have one top Announcement per page. You can also set its start and end dates. See the bottom of this page for examples of bottom Announcements. Bottom Announcement blocks are also placed using section taxonomy. You can have multiple bottom Announcement per page, though no more than 2-3 are recommended. Like top Announcements, you can also set start and end dates. The announcement with the more recent start date will display first.

Instructions

  • Go to Content > Create Content > Announcements

  • Give the announcement a memorable Title

The Title will not display on the announcement, so it is a good practice to give it a memorable title that is relevant to the page where it will reside.

  • Assign the Announcement to a Section

The Section is related to an already-established taxonomy term. Your announcement will only appear on the Section Front Page associated with that taxonomy term.

  • Provide the Body text of the announcement

  • Select the Display Date

The Display Date dictates when the announcement(s) will appear and disappear.

  • Choose the Location where you would like the announcement to appear

Top announcements appear above the content of the page where the announcement will appear, while Bottom announcements will appear beneath. You can only add One top announcement, while you can add multiple Bottom announcements. The most recently created Bottom announcement will appear first in accordion format. No more than three Bottom announcements are recommended.
